“Cebu-Fujian Business & Tourism Cooperation Seminar” was Successfully Held!
On September 8, “Fujian-Cebu Business & Tourism Cooperation Seminar”, sponsored by CCPIT Xiamen and Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines, was successfully held in Hotel Nikko Xiamen, hosted by COIC Xiamen and Xiamen Tyko Group Co., Ltd.
Mr. Hilario P. Davide III, Governor of Cebu Province, Philippines; Mr. Zheng Xincong, Vice Governor of Fujian Provincial People's Government; Mr. Chen Yongyu, Vice Chairman of CPPCC Xiamen Committee; Mr. Lin Xuefeng, Deputy Director General of Fujian Foreign Affairs Office; Mr. Julius Caesar A. Flores, Consul General of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen; Mr. Consul Antonio Chiu, President of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attended the seminar.

At the seminar, Vice Governor Zheng Xincong said that Fujian province and the Philippines enjoy a long history of friendly relations, frequent personnel exchanges and close economic and trade cooperation. Since the signing of the Letter of Good Will between Fujian Province and Cebu Province in 2016, the bilateral economic and trade exchanges and cultural exchanges have been expanding.
On the morning of that day, Governor Tang Dengjie met with Governor Davide, and the two provinces signed a memorandum of cooperation on jointly building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. The relevant departments at all levels in Fujian will conscientiously implement the cooperation consensus reached by the two governors, and make every effort to promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields to a new level and achieve new results, benefiting the people of the two provinces.

Chairman Chen hopes to use this successful mode to build an international cooperation platform, lead more Chinese enterprises to enter the Philippines, and respond to the national “go global” strategy. At the same time, more Philippine enterprises will be introduced to the Chinese market, in response to the national “bring in” strategy, which has received positive response and recognition from the participating organizations.
Ms. Meseret Seyoum, Special Adviser for Africa Investment of Xiamen Tyko Group, also attended the seminar. She particularly praised and welcomed Tyko's investment and development cooperation in Africa with 【1+1+N】 New Internationalized Enterprise Cooperation Mode.
The seminar achieved remarkable results. It signed some cooperation agreements, such as the Agreement on Cooperation between Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Xiamen Chamber of International Commerce, the Agreement on School-Enterprise Strategic Cooperation between Cultural Industry and Tourism Academy of Xiamen University of Technology and Xiamen Tyko Group Co., Ltd. and FPN-Tyko International Co., Ltd..
Just as Yan, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Xiamen said, this seminar time was too short, but it was difficult to stop everyone's enthusiasm for in-depth exchanges. It also echoed the original intention of this seminar, which is to build an international exchange platform, promote China-Philippines friendly cooperation in politics and business, and respond to the Memorandum of Cooperation on jointly building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
The success of the seminar was inseparable from the guidance and care of provincial and municipal leaders in Cebu and Fujian Province. It also demonstrated the determination and strength of Xiamen Tyko Group Co., Ltd. as a private enterprise in respond to the strategy of “bring in and go global”, laying a solid foundation for expanding 【1+1+N】 New Internationalized Enterprise Cooperation Mode and opening up the global cooperation.
